Nah they really do suck, too many people like them, most of them being friendless outcasts trying to discover a way to be cool.

I like one or two Slipknot songs. Thats about it really. I think the amount of band members they have is silly, especially as they don't all have an immediate purpose - by this, I mean they don't all play instruments so don't contribute to the live experience much.

I think I much prefer Stone Sour!

And the title of this thread make me laugh. "if anyone says bad i'll kill you" HAHA!.

Slipknot's first two albums were absolutely godawful, however I quite liked The Subliminal Verses.

anyone who actually listens to slipknot is so full of insurmountable fail that it drips from every orifice of their body like jizz off terri schiavo's face in that one bukkake video.

I feel similarly. I don't care for their music that's constant screaming/banging on shit. Subliminal Verses shows that they actually had talent, though, and that the dude can really sing and write complex songs.

I went to a Slipknot concert in 8th grade. Some people there were in the 17-19 range but most of them left after Lamb of God. The people who were still there when Slipknot came on were 13-15 myself included.

I don't like them much at all anymore, I will listen to a song or two occasionally when I'm hanging out with friends who like them.

I agree. They moved from the likes of Sic, and People=Shit, to decently written stuff like Vermillion, Welcome, Three Nil and Circle.

(Sic) is a good song.

I'd probably disagree.

I'd bet you would. Its a fight song, no?

Enemy - Show me what you want to be
I can handle anything
Even if I can't handle you
Readlity - either way it better be
Don't you fuckin' pity me
Get up, get off

I don't follow. Are you suggesting i was trying to start a fight/arguement?

No, I'm saying the song is a fight song.

It doesn't suck because of the lyrics. It sucks because of the music.

After reading the lyrics, they're pretty bad, too. Not because they're "fight" lyrics... they're just lame.

No, I'm saying the song is a fight song.

Being a 'fight song', doesn't make a song good.

Just was wondering if it was a fight song, I figured it was.

Admittedly those lyrics do suck.

However, these I think are pretty good

She seems dressed in all the rings
Of past fatalaties
So fragile yet so devious
She continues to see it
Climatic hands that press
Her temples and my chest
Enter the night that she came home
Forever

Those lyrics are far superior than the other ones, but I still don't like them. I'm not a huge fan of lyrics that try to sound too dark and cryptic. Not horrible lyrics, but just not my thing.

Festivals is the word I want to point out here :D.

Yeah, festivals being where anyone of any age can go. I'll point out again that 99% of other concerts are age restricted. 13 year olds can't go to a 17+ show no matter how much they love Slipknot.

Maybe it's just the venues near my house, but there are never any +18 shows around my area.

Llamas

it's not the band itself that determines age limits- it's the venues. Most venues in downtown Minneapolis are 18+ or 21+. Slipknot would never play at those venues, because nobody would come.

Milwaukee has shitty venues. The rave, amphitheatre... they don't have age limits.

Detroit doesn't have any age limits that I've seen in the past three years. I do remember one for a pop-rock band, American Hi-Fi, show four years ago, though.

I've never been to riverside. Where is it?

Eagles Ballroom/Rave = WORST ACOUSTICS EVER. It's a cool building, but it's sooo nasty and not up to date.

Minneapolis has a much bigger and better music scene than Milwaukee... so we have a lot more venues. I can think of 5 alone downtown Minneapolis. And if you include the huge amphitheatres, even more. Plus there are some in St. Paul... and then you include the ones in suburbs. Huge music scene. I don't miss that in Milwaukee at all. But point being, most of our venues have age limits. There are like 3 that don't.

Detroit, are you serious? The Magic Stick regularly has all ages shows?

Slipknot shows don't have an age limit as far as I know.

The band wouldn't necessarily have a say in that--sometimes it's the venue's regulations. All ages shows have to adhere to strict community curfew guidelines and the venue has to be very strict about alcohol sales.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen any lately. I'll check the site. Huh, you're right, there are a couple 18+ shows coming up. Even Majestic has a couple. I was planning on going to the Magic Stick in 2006, and all the bands that I had interest in playing there had all ages shows.

Slipknot aren't a band. It's nine fucking people. What kind of a band has nine people? It's gay. (Plus, they sound like shit.)

A lot of bands have more than 10 people. Ever hear of jazz music? A full jazz band has 15 people. Number of people in a band doesn't mean anything. Failed argument.
