After a long quest that lasted two days, venturing through Wal-Mart, Target, Tower Records, Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, Circuit City, Suncoast, another Suncoast, Sam Goody, and finally...another Sam Goody...I have finally received my bounty. The dvds for season one of this wonderful show are now sitting right beside me. I haven't even opened them yet, and the theme song is already stuck in my head.

I used to have a bunch of Polaris and Miracle Legion songs on my computer. I know those two bands are very closely tied together, but I forget what makes them different...

Will I get crucified for saying I've never heard of it?

Nah...you're too young. Plus it was an American show. I'm not sure if it ever went overseas.

I'll gain some of my credibility back by saying I enjoyed Newsradio. Well, the one episode of it I saw.

 .

I'm not the obsessed fan of Newsradio most people are. It's a fine show, but I've never seen more than a few episodes. So that doesn't help you out at all!

Curses! My trump card, cruelly rejected!

Alright, I adore Black Books.

It's about Pete, Pete's brother Pete, and the lives of them and the people around them. I always think of it as a quirkier, more surreal Wonder Years, but better.

I just remembered what it was. I saw a few episodes a long time ago.

Does it have all the shorts and the "special" episodes? You know, the ones made before it was officially launched as a series?

Look out for the following people:

Michael Stipe as Captain Scrummy
Kate Piersen as Mrs. Vandevier
Steve Buschemi as Phil Hickle (Ellen's dad)
Ellen Cleghorne as Sally
Iggy Pop as James Mecklenberg (Nona's dad)

Early 90s. 1993? 1994? It started somewhere around there.

I was in Canada, and it didn't show on T.V., even though I loved Nickelodeon shows, but I barely watched T.V. and I still barely do.

I remember The Adventures of Pete and Pete from when I was a liitle tyke lol. Danny Tamberelli right? ...The two red headed brothers...

My favorite episode was the one with the underwear inspector vs. the younger brother and also the one where they made lifegaurd pee in the pool or something.

That show was fucking awesome. Its up there with Rocko's Modern Life, The Original All That and Ren and Stimpy.

it has four of the five specials and two of the ~12 shorts. i can only assume that the rest will be included in the season 2 and 3 dvd sets (as i hold quite a bit of hope that they will be released).

I can't remember much about the show except for the mermaid tattoo and that it aired after a show about a boy who could turn into a dog.

Pete and Pete owns all. How well does it stand the test of time?

It stood the test surprisingly well. It's still quite an enjoyable watch.
