  1. Actually I just got my placement! I was placed with the teacher I wanted which is awesome and I will start in late August! Right now I'm hanging out at the college working until then. It's really boring so I've been listening to a lot of music, Photoshoping for a couple friends and for the Smash covered by us project, and reading Sherlock Holmes. Also I've been watching a ton of TV and ruining my sleep pattern (currently I'm going to bed at 3am and getting up at 11am. Yikes.)

I have to get a hold of my mentor teacher so I can find out what subjects we will have so I can prep! So what else is in this amazing sounding medal collection? You've piqued my interest...

  2. Hey Birch!

I got offered my last summer’s job at the museum again; so I’m back at home with my parents with the summer. Right now I’m cataloging a large war medal collection that was recently donated, and then I have to turn it into a new display; there are a bunch of really cool ones in it, like one from the battle of Waterloo. It’s a long process, but it’s really fun researching each individual medal and finding the story behind it.

Besides work, I’m taking a summer correspondence course on US history colonial era to present day to also help pass the time. I’m seeing the Offspring play July 2nd, so I’m counting the days down until then as well.

So what’s new with you, enjoying your student teaching?

  5. Glad to hear youíre enjoying yourself. Iíve had a good time catching up with some old friends, who I donít see while Iím away at school. Christmas itself was fine, i got some nice gifts. The bar scene sucks where my parents live, so I usually end up hanging out at friendís houses, which is fine. Iíve spent most of the time reading/ watching DVDs (tudors, 24, six feet under). Iím also happy that the holidays are only a couple weeks long, or else my parents and I would really get on each others nerves. Enjoy the rest of your break!
  6. Hey! The holidays go well! Right now I'm enjoying a Bailey's and coffee watching House on TV! I don't really like Christmas due in part to previous family issues, but I do love presents. I'll be posting pictures in the next couple days (when I get back to a civilized internet connection) of me with my new suit jackets. I also got a couple shirts, a sweater, and some other odds and ends. I also may have a shot tonight or tomorrow night to hook up with an ex. Don't know for sure! I went to a friends birthday party and played Edward 32 hands after having a liter of beer. We then proceeded to a bar in which we were the only people (8 of us) on a Sunday night!

    How are your holidays going?

    -Birch
  7. Hey man, how goes the holidays? Enjoy the break, before next semester!
    take it easy,

  8. Urgh, I have a major research paper due tomorrow at 630pm, a second paper due Tuesday morning at 830am, and a third paper due Wednesday morning at 830am. I think I’m going to have about 5 hours of sleep total over the next three days. It's pretty sad when the thing i'm most looking forwards too is a good nights sleep.

  9. Oh man that sounds rough. Is that guy a history major? If so thatís pretty sad. Glad you managed to finish that essay. I handed in a paper today on the political culture of France during the initial stages of the revolution; I should/could have finished it by about 1130pm last night, instead, I thought it would be much better to work on it until about 5am this morning. Naturally there were several long intermissions throughout the writing process.
