Oh, and now that i'm listening to Diamond in the Rough i'm starting to like it more and more. That leaves only one weak song on the album in my opinion.

    Dude, get the album. Now!

No, seriously, i love this album, even though (as i said before) it's not as "punk" as White Light, for example. It's just that it sounds so damn fun, and i love the old-school vibe on it. Out of 11 songs (on the regular version i bought, there are 2 more bonus tracks on the deluxe edition) there are only 2 songs that i'm not really fond of - Diamond in the Rough and Far Side of Nowhere. The rest of the album is brilliant. Oh, and there is one cover - Alone And Forsaken, originally by Hank Williams. I'm not familiar with the original artist, but the cover is excellent, though more agressive than original (listening to the original you can hear where SD got their influences from). Anyway, it's a really good album, i'll probably rank it higher than RAFRAG, which i liked a lot

And is it just me, or does Mike Ness make just any song sound badass? That "badass" vibe is what i love most about SD.
  3. Haha, yeah for sure man . I'll put you in charge for the next one when I make the thread too, sound good?

Oh, and did you check the new Social Distortion album yet? I highly reccommend it, if you're into good old punk and blues influenced rock and roll . Great stuff, and great solos for practising. I always loved their solos, perfect for punk rock. The album seems like the rest of their material, bluesy punk and hard rock (except from Mommy's Little Monster and White Light, which are their punkiest albums). And it has one of the best intros to an album ever, Road Zombie, which sets the tone perfectly.

We already have a new singer since last year, as we're a 5-piece band now . But i do occasionally sing more than just backing vocals, since some songs feature dual lead vocals. Probably this new one will feature dual lead vocals too, AiC have inspired me to try to do some vocal harmonies, though i wouldn't like to do them in the same way as they did, i wouldn't want to copy them. They can't be copied, they're too good.

I'm working at a local factory. It's not a hard job, and i'm not doing the same thing all the time, i work where they need me. But nothing is hard, compared with my previous job, so all is well

On a brighter note, we might have a gig coming up in may, and perhaps a few more gigs later. Nothing's certain yet though, but i'm really looking forward to the possible concert in may. Oh, and the new, grungy sounding song, was received well. It's different, heavier than out usual material and it's also our darkest and most mentally fucked up song yet (which is kind of why i like it so much ), but it's cool, because it crosses our usual boarders, it pushes into a different territory for us. Semper Fi could act as a bridge between that song and the rest of our songs. This new one really is heavy. And the best thing about it is the solo. It's not too complex, just complex enough to fit the song perfectly. It's really melodic, built around the rhytm guitar, and it adds a lot to the song. It's by far my best solo yet, and i'm actually really proud of it. It feels just right, and others agree. I guess i'm finally getting better at soloing

So, our first practise after a couple of months didn't really went well. It was short, i was in a really bad mood (it wasn't an easy day at work, i had a massive headache and haven't slept much for the past two days, so no wonder i wasn't exactly mr. happy), and because i had to lend one of my cables to our rhytm guitarist (his didn't work, but you can't blame the guy for that) i couldn't use my effect pedal and therefore the shitty sound of the very shitty amp (i nicknamed it "driska", or diarrhea in english) came in full force. I felt i played like shit because of that sound. But the main reason why the rehearsal didn't go well is simply because we yet need to get back into it, after all we haven't played together for quite a while. I can't wait for the next rehearsal (sadly i'm going to miss the next weak's practise, because i'm working the afternoon shift), it should go better.

I haven't got internet. But I miss you.
  9. I have noticed that I have two choices here. I'm either an infamous troll or I get ignored... How do I fix that???

About randman21
Everybody to the limit.Truck driver. Musician. Punk Rock enthusiast. Activist. Peerless lover. Fearless fighter. Haver of Y Chromosomes. ------Randy was born into humble beginnings on the planet of Mars. His father and ancestors before him worked in the mines of the nearby moon, Phobos. Randman knew this was not the destiny that stood before him. When he turned 9 years old, the Martian equivalent to 18 Earth years, he decided to leave his home planet and venture to a planet where he could express his artistic imagination: Earth.Upon arrival, however, his talent was met with little attention. After several attempts and eventual failure, he was on his last stretch of hope. If he didn't make a name for himself, it was off back to Mars and the mines. After an epic show at a local club, a small, unknown band took notice of his talent and asked him to sing for their band. They were The SRIs, featuring drummer Josh Freese, Guitarist Jesus Christ and Bassist Chuck Norris. After 3 short practices, they began recording their debut album. The album, This Album Is So Awesome, You Have No Fucking Idea was released to unsatisfactory results, only selling 4 million units in the United States. After such a failure, they buckled down for their next album. This album was Out Next Album. It was so incredible, it launched the band to superstardom. It's success could only be matched by the next five albums, Hey, Are You Still Listening, What's That Smell?, Earth Just Shit It's Pants, Try Not to Jizz Yourself, and Rise and Rise, Kiss Our Ass. With quintuple diamond certifications for all seven of their albums, The SRIs can be hailed as the greatest band ever to have been conceived.--Adapted from a biography by Brian Donald Ponce, noted historian
