    Update...

We might finish some more songs in the future also (when we were recording we recorded drumtracks for all 6 planned songs, but only 3 instrumentals were finished back then, maybe we'll finish others sometime soon). We talked about it, but now the priority is rehearsing for the gigs and recording vocals for the 3 songs that are almost finished.
  7. Thanks a lot!!!!

    I really appreciated!

Yeah, to be honest at the beginning i wanted to sing everything by myself, i wanted to be the frontman and i didn't like the idea of that changing. Maybe it has something to do with my past - i was always in the shadow of others, and now i finally wanted to stand out.

But later i started to realise that it wouldn't be fair. I'm much rather the main songwriter (others don't have any complaints there, they are all excited about the songs i write, and i'm very glad everyone likes them) and still enough important that way. I really want everything to sound as good as possible. I'm still a good shouter/screamer though, and i'm sure we can put that into good use (i'll still be singing more than just backvocals, as some songs will featture double vocals, i'll also sing on the songs we've recorded so far) . And i discovered that being the frontman wasn't the main thing i enjoyed on stage. Simply being on the stage and having a great time was enough, so i'll enjoy everything as much as now if not more.

About the 3 guitarists - i think you should try it, it might turn out better than you think it could. Just listen to any song from Iron Maiden's Brave New World album, and pay attention to the guitars. You'll notice that every guitar plays something different, even if it's just a bit different (maybe different tone, some different melody variations), but they all fit so perfectly along each other. The sound they got is trully epic, it has some special feel, some atmosphere to it, i can't really describe it. It's all in the details, and maybe it could work for you also

    Hey thanks, i appreciate it

I'll work slowly on everything, from the start up if needed. But since i already can play good (other than solos) it'll be easier.

Oh, some news by the way - our second guitarist will be the main singer, although we'll both be singing, probably it's just that he'll have lead vocals on more songs. His voice is a bit higher than mine and it would fit better in some songs. We'll try on our future practices and see what's better.

I'm actually quite satisfied with this - he is better at melodic singing and i'm better in shouting and screaming. And if he'll be the main vocalist i won't have as much work as now anymore, it'll be a bit easier. Although i'll still have tons of work to do, since i'm deffinitely staying the main songwriter, and that's just what i enjoy the most

I'll focus more on improving my guitar skills instead, since i'll have more time for that now

And by the way, there might be a 3rd gig in fact, its just not decided yet

Hey, do you have any suggestion about guitar soloing techniques (like a link to some site with some useful information; i'll look on ultimateguitar, but i'm not sure if it would open the page, because my computer used to freeze everytime i tried to open that page for some unknown reason), because i could use a tip or two. I'd like to improve my soloing skills, since i'm the lead guitarist in the band. Maybe you could help here?

About randman21
Biography:
Everybody to the limit.Truck driver. Musician. Punk Rock enthusiast. Activist. Peerless lover. Fearless fighter. Haver of Y Chromosomes. ------Randy was born into humble beginnings on the planet of Mars. His father and ancestors before him worked in the mines of the nearby moon, Phobos. Randman knew this was not the destiny that stood before him. When he turned 9 years old, the Martian equivalent to 18 Earth years, he decided to leave his home planet and venture to a planet where he could express his artistic imagination: Earth.Upon arrival, however, his talent was met with little attention. After several attempts and eventual failure, he was on his last stretch of hope. If he didn't make a name for himself, it was off back to Mars and the mines. After an epic show at a local club, a small, unknown band took notice of his talent and asked him to sing for their band. They were The SRIs, featuring drummer Josh Freese, Guitarist Jesus Christ and Bassist Chuck Norris. After 3 short practices, they began recording their debut album. The album, This Album Is So Awesome, You Have No Fucking Idea was released to unsatisfactory results, only selling 4 million units in the United States. After such a failure, they buckled down for their next album. This album was Out Next Album. It was so incredible, it launched the band to superstardom. It's success could only be matched by the next five albums, Hey, Are You Still Listening, What's That Smell?, Earth Just Shit It's Pants, Try Not to Jizz Yourself, and Rise and Rise, Kiss Our Ass. With quintuple diamond certifications for all seven of their albums, The SRIs can be hailed as the greatest band ever to have been conceived.--Adapted from a biography by Brian Donald Ponce, noted historian
