So, we still haven't started recording. But we decided not to rush things anyway, we want to do it properly. Which doesn't mean we won't be recording soon. It just means we don't exactly know when we'll start. Could be anytime

The songs turned out pretty good though, i especially like that grungy one, apparently it's gonna be called "Swell" after all. It's nothing too complex, but it just turned out so great, the lyrics and the music are really connected in this one, and the feel of the song is just right. It's came out a bit more agressive than my original idea, but the feel is the same. The solo is probably the highlight, it emphasizes the song's meaning even more.

Still working on the "epic". The ending of the song is gonna be the most agressive thing we've ever done. Those last 15 seconds are pain in the ass to play (well, the rest of the song isn't exactly easy either), it doesn't take long for your arm to start hurting

Oh god yes. This was one of the defining moments of the whole festival for me

Yep, i'm staying for the whole thing. This is gonna be so freaking awesome

Unfortunately this is apparently gonna be Golliwog's goodbye gig - their drummer and guitarist left, but they re-grouped for this final gig, they always said when NOFX comes to Slovenia they would be opening for them. I still hope they would get the replacements and continue as Golliwog one day though.

Oh, and today i can actually agree with Rebecca Black. It IS friday, and practically everyone i know has been looking forward to this weekend since the festival's announcement

Hell fucking yeah! Tomorrow's the start of what could be the most awesome weekend of my life (so far, at least)

    Can hardly wait
  6. Hey man!

To be honest, nothing terribly exciting: recently decided to put off the “real world” for a couple more years so i’m going back to uni in the fall for my masters in political studies. The summer has been fairly low-key: just working a temp office job, and catching a couple bands live here and there: saw Nofx/Old Man Malarkey/Teenage Bottlerocket, as well as Frank Turner in the last little while and both shows were pretty darn fun.

What’s new with you? How’s the music career? I was checking out some stuff on your soundcloud page: Over There, Covenant and One Way Out particularly caught my attention.

Time to get some soloing skills. Downloaded Iron Maiden's Wickerman tab, which is not really that hard to play, except from the solo part, and even that part is turning out a bit easier than i expected.

On a side note, i'm finally pleased with rhytm guitar part that will be played alongside the soloing guitar (for the "epic" song). I had an idea for my solo before (mind you, the song will probably have two solos), but today i just improvised along the rhytm guitar, and much to my surprise i came up with a whole different idea, which is also much better. Of course it needs quite some work, but it has a lot of potential. It's fast and melodic. I really need to finish it soon, i want the song to be done by the time we start recording.

Well, actually i got the majority of the fossils in my collection (well, at least the good ones) during the last few years. But i've been interested in fossils since i was 4 (when i first learned that such things even exist; dinosaurs had a major part in this), and got my first really good fossil when i was 11 (found a trilobite, they are a very rare find in Slovenia). My collection kinda "blew up" during the last 5 years, when i started gerring (or finding) some really good stuff

Oh, and we got a new dog (from the animal shelter of course). His name is Charlie and is about 3 years old. It's not a pure breed dog, probably a mixture between a labrador and a setter. We decided to take him the moment we met him, he's such a nice, calm and very friendly dog (seriously, he wouldn't hurt a fly, he basically wants to be friends with everyone). Hused to be very miserable in the shelter, but his behaviour visibly changed since we brought him home. He's really grateful for that

Thanks, it was really a great news for me. I know, Palaeontology is still my greatest interest (even greater than Archaeology, which i had been studying until now), but if i wanted to be a Palaeontologist i'd have to study Geology, and there are two problems with that: Physics and Mathematics, two subjects that i'm not really good at.

I've been actually quite good at Geography in high school, and it does interest me. Plus, one of the subjects is Geology, and i think i could be excellent at that (due to it being a big personal interest and after all, i'm collecting fossils and looking into this stuff for what, 18 years now? since i was 4). And no Maths, Physics or Latin either

Oh, and me and my mum will visit an animal shelter tomorrow, probably picking up a new dog. Ron helped us to get through the loss of our previous dog (we took him, he was abandoned by his previous owners), so it might be a good idea. Plus, we'll give a better life to another unfortunate animal

Finally some good news again. The loss of my dog still hurts (though i'm holding well), but at least i got the letter from the university today, my application was accepted, i got in and will be studying Geography. It's about time, at least now i'm nto as uncertain about the future anymore.

About randman21
Everybody to the limit.Truck driver. Musician. Punk Rock enthusiast. Activist. Peerless lover. Fearless fighter. Haver of Y Chromosomes. ------Randy was born into humble beginnings on the planet of Mars. His father and ancestors before him worked in the mines of the nearby moon, Phobos. Randman knew this was not the destiny that stood before him. When he turned 9 years old, the Martian equivalent to 18 Earth years, he decided to leave his home planet and venture to a planet where he could express his artistic imagination: Earth.Upon arrival, however, his talent was met with little attention. After several attempts and eventual failure, he was on his last stretch of hope. If he didn't make a name for himself, it was off back to Mars and the mines. After an epic show at a local club, a small, unknown band took notice of his talent and asked him to sing for their band. They were The SRIs, featuring drummer Josh Freese, Guitarist Jesus Christ and Bassist Chuck Norris. After 3 short practices, they began recording their debut album. The album, This Album Is So Awesome, You Have No Fucking Idea was released to unsatisfactory results, only selling 4 million units in the United States. After such a failure, they buckled down for their next album. This album was Out Next Album. It was so incredible, it launched the band to superstardom. It's success could only be matched by the next five albums, Hey, Are You Still Listening, What's That Smell?, Earth Just Shit It's Pants, Try Not to Jizz Yourself, and Rise and Rise, Kiss Our Ass. With quintuple diamond certifications for all seven of their albums, The SRIs can be hailed as the greatest band ever to have been conceived.--Adapted from a biography by Brian Donald Ponce, noted historian
