I think The Offspring haven't had a luck with this. They kind of got fucked by fans for Splinter and its shortcomings. (It still took a lot of time) Now I think it's the other way around, I think it's not good if a record is too perfect, however the fans are not really crying about it. I once said that it'd would be ideal if they had had one more album so maybe they were wasting some time with it and they might have even been hammerheads :d about it with music business sinking, low sales...etc The new album is solid and good so it's not like it's the end of the world.
