    HUGE NEWS!

Cheers to lostandclowned at punknews.org for providing the scans.

So structurally it's apparently very similar to American Idiot in some ways; there are 3 Acts (Act 1 Heroes and Cons; Act 2 Charlatans and Saints - Act 3 Horseshoes and Handgrenades).

They are working on 16 songs, which titles include, Last Night On Earth, March of the Dogs, 21st Century Breakdown and the goal seems to be for a spring release. (some songs also include piano, I guess that's the new thing for pop-punk bands)

I'm really excited for this, based off some of the song summaries, this seems to have a similar sound to Warning. This should be one of my favorite releases of 2008.

A very excited possibly eight year old, new Offspring forums member just called Greenday GreenGay and said the Offspring are much better than Greenday. It would be nice if new members would calm down and make actual meaningful posts every now and again.

    Thanks for posting that, Jacknife!

I remember hearing that it was gonna be a triple disc set. Maybe the "Three Acts" thing stems from that idea? It's innovative and intriguing. Points for that! I'm glad that they're going for the epicnicity that is American Idiot and the musical sound that is Warning. It may appeal to fans both old & new. Sweet!

I'd like to hear samples of these...just because the descriptions don't really stir my interest...sadly enough.

If it's actually similar to Warning, I could like it. That description, however, sounds like they are trying way too hard to be deep/profound... and they're just not a band that can pull that off without sounding cheesy or pathetic.

That's exactly what I was thinking but couldn't put it into words.
