So structurally it's apparently very similar to American Idiot in some ways; there are 3 Acts (Act 1 Heroes and Cons; Act 2 Charlatans and Saints - Act 3 Horseshoes and Handgrenades).

They are working on 16 songs, which titles include, Last Night On Earth, March of the Dogs, 21st Century Breakdown and the goal seems to be for a spring release. (some songs also include piano, I guess that's the new thing for pop-punk bands)

I'm really excited for this, based off some of the song summaries, this seems to have a similar sound to Warning. This should be one of my favorite releases of 2008.
Hmm, that sounds interesting...Still questionable of the decision to go more into power pop than punk rock. They needed to do a style of music that kicks all of those emo scenesters who ransacked the band away.

I love Greenday, but I don't like how the band makes songs that they can't play live without the help of additional musicians. Like on Bullet In A Bible, how Billy Joe ditches the guitar and just runs around dancing and singing his song, while some other guy who isn't mentioned in the actual band line-up has to play the lead guitar. Like The Offspring has had Higgins and now Andrew Freeman and people like that, but when they have to start playing the lead guitar I think that's a bit silly.

Favorite Greenday songs: Basket Case, Jesus Of Suburbia, St Jimmy, Longview and Welcome to Paradise.

i have to say that greenday's music style is better than offspring's and i guess offspring's last album's some songs's intros (rafrag) re almost like greenday's sound.

Some update and the very humble upcoming album trailer, which isn't too unveiling anyway. To keep us warm.
After SIFU tour announcement doesn't look too original ;].
Before you speak think about what you're trying to say.
