Oh, it is a TV show. Just like Idol.

The funny thing, at least to me, is that I think it's actually a worse idea on the part of the producers than Billie Joe's. Sure, Green Day has more or less transitioned to becoming the biggest rock band in the world, but The Voice's viewer base is mostly middle aged women, a demographic that still probably doesn't give a fuck about Green Day.

Not that it isn't an incredibly bizarre choice for Billie Joe, too. Even factoring in money, there's probably a million other offers out there he's gotten that make more sense than this.

Generally there are way too many talent shows out there as far as I'm concerned.
As for Armstrong joining The Voice ... well I don' know - let's wait and see.
As for the winners of these shows, well, some manage to make it and "survive" after the shows - Kelly Clarkson, Paul Potts (his performance of Nessun Dorma still gives me goose bumps) come to mind - others disappear completely after a couple of months 'cause they're just not made for it I guess.
This guy was pretty amazing though too:

All in all it's just about making as much money as possible in a relative short period of time with the least of efforts ...

    New song: http://www.altpress.com/aptv/video/v...et_yourself_go

Better than the single, its much more in the style of mid 90s Green Day (up tempo pop punk), but the lyrics are pretty awful. It's quite a pity that the guy who wrote Macy's Day Parade has forgotten how to write something other than brainless drivel.

I like it a lot. It's an incredibly fun, catchy song. The lyrics are awful but I'd still prefer it to the last album.
