Yeah I wish I could come up with all this wisdom when I see you guys, but the truth is it's always after an offspring show, and I'm usually preoccupied by regaining my composure. The only letters / words that do come to mind is OMG WTF But I might be able to gather some good questions in person if you for example ever started a tour in the city I live in and maybe came over with the crew for a garden party/BBQ the night before the first show...

Well you can tell a whole lot of experimentation went into your last album and bit less into Americana. But it was assembled so quickly, hoped the new one will too.

Thanks, that's comforting.. if you ever come back and read through my reply, the more important portion of that was: if you ever do - you'll give us plenty of notice about the last tours/shows etc? If you respond to anything I rambled on about in here let it be that please.. thanks

Great that's super.. I think in this climate with so-called "emo" bands being popular a powerful anthem like Half-Truism has a shot at being a hit, and I've always been a "the more the merrier" type fellow, plus add to that how much I love the song! I can't wait for a video!

I believe that's the definition of a "win-win" for us fans here at offspring.com BBS

    Dexter,

Thanks for the replies, it is so freaking awesome that you come around and answer stuff from silly little questions to age old mysteries. I've always though this sort of interaction from you guys was great. Add to that my shitty day - my gf broke her leg had to rush her to the hospital pay through the nose for a private clinic so she'd be done on time and I could come home to study account of all things - well.. the shitty day just did a 180! =)

    Hope all is well!

Wow, lot of activity in this thread. Just wanted to say cheers to Dexter, for taking the time to answer some of the questions. The bit about Half-Truism and the time between Ixnay and Americana was particularly interesting.

Also, can't wait to see the video for Stuff Is Messed Up, whenever you guys get around to releasing it!

really?i always thought "stuff is messed up" and "nothingtown" would do better as singles.

p.s.:thanks for answering some questions,we really appreciate that ,i was kind of esceptic that you would answer stuff here

    Default Questions for Dexter

    1. When do you Dexter see the next Offspring album to be out?

    2. How often do you listen to your own music?

    3. What is your favourite Offspring song?

    4. Are there any songs you aren't so happy with? If so, which ones?

    5. What is your favourite film?

    6. What is your favourite cameo you have done in a film?

    7. What is your favourite band right now (except for The Offspring).

    8. How come you didn't use the Napster logo on RAFRAG? I have always wondered about that. I think it is cool, and I also think that RAFRAG is the album that is most downloaded because of the state of the music industry.

    9. What happened with Chris Higgins? I heard he became very religious and is busy with a church somehow?

I think Half-truism is about trying to change the wrong stuff we've been seeing lately, (so we'll have a future that won't be only waiting to the day there's nothing left), and not being well succeeded.

(Did I mention I suck at song's interpretation?)

So, another question for Dexter is:

Which show was the most insane you've played at recently?

    Oh, and being pushy...
Pass Me By really exists? Wouldn't you like to let us listen to a few seconds of it?

Haha so Dexter turned it one way on Oxygene about just asking him in person and I'll use that tactic to turn it the other way around...

Hey Dex - What's it gonna take to get greg to say something in the mic at a show (obviously singing doesn't count since he does that)?

I joked about it in person but all we got the next day was a wave...

    and more seriously -

I know when I get bored and don't have an airplane to fly - i'll often pick up my guitar and play random things that eventually just lead me back to strumming along some Offspring song... you ever get bored and just pick up an instrument? if so, what do you find yourself doing? playing other bands? playing your own songs? being creative and finding something new?
