Default Why is ska so uplifting?

Really. I've never been able to figure out why this genre lifts people's mood.

So if anybody has the answer please explain why ska is so uplifting.

Really? Always seemed pretty obvious to me. It's fast, it's almost always in major keys, it's got a lot of pizazz with the horns... plus the whole fact that the "ands" of the beats are stressed generally gives people the feeling of lift.

Unfortunately, 90% of ska is trash. Very few bands end up pulling off something that isn't generic and boring.

Even ska band's names always make me smile, especially the one's that are really bad puns.

I've always secretly wanted to start a band called the skashank redemption.

Edit: upon a quick google search, my hopes have been dashed, it already exists.
