How serious do you take morals?

I'd listen to both sides of the story, but the situation I am referring to in particular happened at my house, in my bedroom. Nothing really went down, a kid I never wanted over in the first place tried to touch my friend while she was sleeping and I didn't find out till he was gone. He lives in Michigan now, I swear to God if I see the kid in person ever again, I'll fucking kill him.

Sorry, that's not really what you were asking for, but I want it to be known exactly how strongly I feel about that type of thing. But yeah, I actually know girls who have accused someone of rape or molestation, then later told me or my friends that they were lying and wanted to get revenge or regretted it. I'll listen to both sides, but if I have any reason to believe that it happened, I have no intention of carrying on any kind of relationship.

I don't associate with the molester I knew. He was a total psycho. He waited for people to go to sleep and felt them up (all guys).One kid, he stuck his dick in his mouth. But the kid he did it to ripped me off, so fuck him. A lot of people suspect he roofied people too. He was also the most manipulative person possible. So much so that on some level, I'm actually impressed by how complex his manipulation schemes were.

Crazy story: This molester once planned a "prank". He told me to download gay porn onto a disc and he would upload it on this kid's computer to embarrass him. I was young and stupid and didn't question any of this. As we were downloading it, he says "wait, download kiddie porn...that will embarrass him even worse". He kept the disc and then claimed that the prank probably wouldn't work. Hmmm. He also taught little kids how to play guitar as one of his jobs. I threatened him and he quit doing that though. Everyone knows about him, but sometimes I feel like I should have done more.

Usually I do take morals serious.

But what about exceptional circumstances? ... Desperate times may sometimes call for desperate measures.

Given the fact that parents, politicians, dignitaries, teachers, superiors and so on (people that are / should be kinda "role models") don't tend to take theirs serious sometimes doesn't make it easier, does it? There's lying, bribery, favoritism, plagiarism and heaven knows what else.

I also think morals change in the course of time.

I used to take morals seriously, but then realised I could not help but act immoral in some situations, and it would even take me to perform ridiculous self-harming behavior to remain 100% moral. So I won't proclaim to be a 100% moral person, but I'll be as moral as I can. So whenever I get to decide for a moral or less moral choice, I'll choose the moral one as long as it does not have significantly bad impacts on me.
One example that comes to my mind is the following: In the city in which I live almost everybody travels by bike... when I came here, I didn't have any bike and were given the choice to buy a cheap (stolen) bike off a junkie (thats how they get the money for their next shots). Now some of my friends got stolen bikes and laughed at me for not having a bike, but since I am clearly against criminality I thought it would have been clearly hypocritical to buy a stolen bike and thus support the criminal system. Instead, I walked for a couple of months until I got a used bike from Germany.

However, if someone tells me that I am hypocritical because I say that I want to change this world for good but don't go to a developing country to help the people build their houses and harvest their crops, then I do not accept that because in my opinion, the existing injustice in the world can only be significantly reduced by changing the systems and the predominant world views that lead to the problems of the third world. So in that case I would protect myself and make a somewhat immoral decision in order to work toward a more efficient solution and in that case, immorality does not really bother me because I know that what I am doing is what I consider best for this situation.

morals describe a result of some action. it teach lesson. one should take moral seriously. to pursue a work its outcome should be known and morals help us a lot to figure them out.
