I know it's off topic...but everyone knows that Avatar is a fucking rip-off of POCHAONTAS.... just with another planet, blue dudes and in the future... but it's the same story!

And Dances With Wolves... and Ferngully... and several episodes of kids shows... Relatively common story, yes.

Someone out there who is also old has to know the song I'm talking about...I feel like it was on Black Sails, but it might have been Art of Drowning?
    isn't this the song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni7lu-gkSh0
    or "Sacrifice Theory" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsOpt1BiuUk

There. I hope you enjoyed our time together today. You know, it seems harder and harder to just sit back and enjoy the finer things in life. Well, till next time. Ta-ta

Close but not quite! This gave me many LOLs though.

This probz belongs in Other Bands, but in the process of finding what song I'm thinking of, I just listened to most of Art of Drowning for the first time in several years. I can't believe it's 12 years old already. I bought it the day it came out and it was one of the most important albums to me in high school. Hey, remember when the "Days of the Phoenix" video came out and it was nothing but crotch shots of Davey? Memories! I listened to a good chunk of Sing the Sorrow, too...I hadn't listened to AFI or even the Offspring in a couple years because my boyfriend at the time was "punx as fuck" and took those bands' very existence as a personal affront. I didn't post here for a long time because he'd freak out. I never tried to foist them on him, but just that I liked them at all was apparently a problem. This probably should have been my first red flag that dude was crazy, but it wasn't of course. I remember getting STS in the mail when I was running my college's radio station and I started listening to it like mad in secret. Ended up revisiting my Offspring CDs too.

    TL;DR version - I'm old.
In a Kerrang interview in '96 Noodles suggested checking out AFI's VPOY that had just come out on Nitro. I did and it blew me away. AFI and The Offspring have basically been my favorite bands ever since. Ignition to me is the most important album of my life, but BSITS is the second.

    TL;DR - I'm older

Anyhoo, which bit exactly of Saviour are you trying to figure out sounds like AFI? just the whoa-ohs overall or a specific bit of the song?

My favorite part was where they ripped themselves off apparently.

My Chemical Romance ripped the fuck off of TKAA in some song that came out a year after RFRG. It was like the same exact guitar part as the TKAA intro, except that it was in a minor key.
My previous signature was getting old. This is my new one.
