I've been watching the North Hemisphere winter meteor showers for the past three tears, since I took astronomy in college and saw an annual list in my text book. The Quadrantids peak on the morning of January 4.
There are meteor showers year round, but the winter ones seem to take place when the sky is clearest, there are no biting night bugs and the air smells freshest.
Being out in my backyard alone, in the quiet, with the stars above and the meteors streaking by, listening to Unwritten Law albums (yes, all three years) on my iPod is the thing that makes me feel most free, even more than playing bass. It's when all my stress melts away and time seems to stop. I know that sounds like d drug trip or something, but it's the activity that I find most relaxing.
