Default Petition asking Fat Mike to sign The Offspring

I just saw a Facebook page called '90s Punk Rock post this on The Offspring's Facebook.

    https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitio...t-wreck-chords

To me, petitions are weird. The one above was obviously created by some troll or just some guy who happens to be either a NOFX or The Offspring fan. Why would Fat Mike want to sign The Offspring to Fat Wreck Chords? My concern about him signing them to his label is the musical direction on all the albums after Smash.
The founder of The Offspring Wikia, and looking for someone to help out, find out why at this thread.

I signed it out of boredom. Haha. Seems totally unlikely though. Didn't even realize who was the (im)poster.

Fat is one of my favorite lables: but i doubt there would be any interest from both parties involved. If the band were to got the indie route, they'd probably try and self release, or create their own "sub label" that is distributed by an existing major - like what the Dropkick Murphys have done.
