Days Go By was their last album on their contract with Colombia. This was confirmed when Dexter and Noodles let a handful of our members interview them for a BBS Podcast.
I don't care where the Offspring go, I'm just interested in seeing what direction they go in musically when they don't have a major label breathing down their necks. I have a strong feeling songs like Cruising California and Worst Hangover Ever exist because of label influence, but that is just my silly personal speculation.
True, but those songs, especially Worst Hangover Ever, feel really lazily written. When you compare it to other tracks from Splinter, I wonder why they wrote that song and how much effort into actually making it. Like I said, it's silly fan theory that doesn't have much evidence to back it up. Although, I really am interested in seeing where they go from here and how much that affects their next album. I often wonder if they wrote a song, but for some reason couldn't include it because of label influence, or wrote a song a certain way and had to change it. It's little things like those that I'm curious about and, now that they are free agents, I wonder if their next album will be dramatically different because of it or will stay more or less the same.
I actually really like Original Prankster a lot im surprised they don't play it live that much anymore
Also I don't think Columbia has any influence on the songs they make in the studio
I think tha tbey the time colombura got to the last cd on their contraxy, t6hy don't give too muxh input anymopre. stand s to realson. like. firs talbum, lots of input, 8th album... not so much. I think n dexyter is just secretly a katy perry fan and is a pop artist at hear.
