Thread: How come no offical DVD/CD yet?

Default How come no offical DVD/CD yet?

I've read there's a live CD in the works, but how come there has not been another one before? Let alone a DVD? I'm talking about the whole concert not just random songs off different shows. They still rock live, but having had a recording of a show with the classic line-up would've been so cool. From the early days (1992-1994), or the years of Ixnay, Americana and Co1.

If the band decide to put out live cd/dvd there will be a live cd/dvd, it's as simple as that. Beside that there's a whole bunch of whole shows pro-shots out there available on youtube or somewhere to download, oldest of them being Germany 1997 I believe and last Rock in Rio from couple of days ago.

They've talked about it in interviews in the past. Noodles has said that he really want to do one, but they haven't had the ideal setting for it. A lot plays into making a really great live cd or DVD and he doesn't want to put out a mediocre one.

You can find a lot of live recordings, where some are very good, at YouTube.com. There are a lot of bootleg CD's available for those who want to hear it. And on a lot of the singles they have released, there are live recordings. There are available recordings, but none official. I do not see a need for a need for an official release of such media. However, some kind of extra hyper mega special recording could be fun to watch.

True. A lot of respected bands have put out at least one live CD, to the point where it seems monotonous. I think it's critical to get this kind of thing just right and make it special, not just seen as filler.

Not doing a CD/DVD combo of the Ignition shows seems like such a wasted opportunity (assuming they're not just waiting for the right time or something like that).

the complete music video collection has a lot of live videos too anyway. Also with close ups!!

but I agree it would be cool to have a "proper" one, I'd like to see a nice dvd with Pete aswell. The Ignition and now this south american\russian tour are quite good chances..

They won't / can't even put out a vinyl of DGB so I hardly doubt there's gonna be a live CD let alone DVD of whatever gig. But hey, feel free and prove me wrong
