I'm a casual fan and it was, for me, pretty boring. That's how football is. You never know what you will get, and really, that's what makes the moments of excitement so damn exciting. The goal, when it finally came, was a rather excellent one but yeah, a dull game in general. To enjoy football you have to have patience and be able to accept delayed gratification. An appreciation for subtlety and tension helps too. Sometimes I have the patience, sometimes I don't. Sadly I wasn't really in the mood for most of this World Cup.
I'm pleased with Germany's win though. I've been a Germany supporter for 8 years now. As an Englishman I think I'm supposed to hate them but they're just too damn efficient. My grudging respect blossomed in to love when they last hosted the World Cup.They play the style of football I like to watch, and they play it exceptionally well. I can't get enough mannschaft.
“Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.” – Bill Hicks
