Default The Friday Prophets - Amsterdam (Music video, punk like it was 1994)

    Hello Offspringers and other maniacs!

I'm a member of a band called The Friday Prophets, we're from Sweden and we play punk/rock. Our biggest influence is punk/rock from '94 I would say so we play fast and melodic. Below is a link to our first music video which we did a while ago. It is a very strange video and the plot is very unclear.

    Hope you like it!

Your album is really good! "Amsterdam" reminds me a bit of Sum 41(particularly the chorus of "The Jester") but overall really quality music, tight production and catchy songwriting, I'm glad that I found this. The singer's voice sounds like Billie Joe at times and there are some weird "indie" licks throughout, that's an interesting touch. But overall you have really catchy punk rock songs, Sweden has always been a good place for this particular genre.

Wow, Amsterdam is awesome! Gotta check the rest of your tunes, if it's as catchy as this song suggest it would be then you just gained a new fan!

Pretty good stuff there. I much appreciated your sound. Short and sweet, just the way punk needs to be. Catchy riffs and choruses.

I'm thinking of gathering a trio to make some music like that, but I could not find a start point. Your approach to melodic punk gave me plenty of new ideas to consider.

Jag såg att ni ska spela i Stockholm den 27:e september. Om det inte vore för Beat Butchers-kalaset samma dag, kanske man kunde ha kikat förbi.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I think those "indie licks" come from a subconscious influence that's rooted in an old love for the two first Arctic Monkeys albums.

Thanks, glad we could inspire! The key points are: 1. to find inspiration which you seem to have and then of course 2. people that love playing music. A lot of ideas can actually come from just jamming around with friends. When I started out I didn't know the first thing about playing music so I bought a cheap guitar and then I forced a friend of mine to buy a drum kit. And then we evolved. Or at least I, my friend sold his drum kit so I had to find a new drummer
